Google’s War on Content Curation?

Mashable reported this morning that Google has declared war on content farms. Content farms are defined as “a company that employs large numbers of often freelance writers to generate large amounts of textual content which is specifically designed to satisfy algorithms for maximal retrieval by automated search engines. Their main goal is to generate advertising revenue” (Wikipedia). Content curation has become an acceptable tactic to find content and generate a following, it is also a tactic I clearly employ. My question is, what affect will this change by Google have on content curation?
